Word Clouds are another visual tool for displaying text. Students can type in the words themselves or copy/paste text from speeches, list of ingredients, news articles, lyrics, stories, etc.

Wordle

Generates “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. The example below is text from a wikipedia entry on volcanoes.

Turns words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters -- into a visually stunning tag cloud. The word cloud below is created from the words to the song "Emmett Till" by Bob Dylan which could be used on an infographic about the Civil Rights Movement.
